Weightloss Hacks

Start With a Glass of Water: Drinking plenty of water is probably the easiest thing you can do to slim down. Plus drinking water helps flush out toxins, keeps you full, and gives you great skin. Start the day off with a glass of water to get you going, then before each meal drink a glass of water, this will keep you full and you’re less likely to overeat when you start drinking before the main course gets there.

Snacks: Having healthy snacks nearby are a great way to stop overeating. But, make sure you’re eating the right snacks. Munch on high-protein and high-fiber foods. We are talking granola bars, apples and even some dark chocolate can help curve your appetite. Whatever you do, don’t go hungry for too long to avoid your blood sugar to drop.

Skip the Soda & Juice: Many times we hit Whole Foods or Jamba Juice for a smoothie or some type of blended juice, but those juices are hurting you more than helping you. Those are empty calories that you’re drinking with tons of sugar that are not doing you any favors. Instead make some lemonade or some fruit infused water.

Eat Smart: Have a plan when you’re cooking at home and when eating out. Think about portion control and about eating healthier. Get smaller plates or bowls if you have to and check out the low calorie options on the menu. Pack on the vegetables and eat only lean protein, like grilled fish and chicken. Plus, think about foods that you could swap to make your favorite foods a little bit healthier, such as using vinaigrette dressing instead of the creamy ranch on your salad.

Sleep More: We all lead busy lives and wish we could add more hours to the day, but unfortunately you’re not Superwoman, so plan wisely and get some sleep. You should be getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep every day because not getting enough sleep can actually cause you to gain weight. Turn off your cell phone and get some Zzz’s.

Sneaky Things That Keep You From Losing Weight

Move: Yes this is the lazy girl’s guide to slimming down, but just because you can’t get to the gym, doesn’t mean you can’t squeeze in some workout time. There are a variety of workouts that you can do at home, even if you have just 10-15 minutes, make sure you’re doing something. Park far away that way you walk a longer distance or take a walk during lunch or after dinner, that helps with digestion and helps you get your cardio in.
