Kick Off The Grilling Season With Beer Can Chicken
Memorial Day weekend kicks off the official start to grilling season and this year instead of doing the same old thing, why not try something a little more adventurous like Beer Can Chicken! This is a fun way to cook an entire chicken on the grill, plus it only takes about an hour and a half and it’s healthier than eating steak.
This Beer Can Chicken recipe is from famed chef, Bobby Flay. It uses his spice rub which you can find at any supermarket or you can use your own dry spice rub, along with garlic and rosemary, that will give you a picture-perfect grilled chicken.
2 cups mesquite or apple wood chips, soaked in cold water for 1 hour
1 (3 to 4-pound) roasting chicken, preferably kosher (since it has been brined)
