Four Different Types of Shampoo Your Hair Needs

“We always hear from our clients that they wash their hair every day because it’s greasy but many times they apply shampoo directly to their scalp and the grease that is in their hair is from the shampoo, not from their scalp,” he explains. Most women wash their hair too much and this causes their scalp to dry out, which clogs their pores, which is what causes the excess oil.

“We like to teach our clients about the products we have and what they do for their hair, as well as how to use it,” he says. To properly apply shampoo, you have to put a little bit in the palm of your hand and then rub your hands together until it lathers, then apply it to the ends of your hair. Never apply directly on the scalp.woman shampooing hair

MHair is a Paul Mitchell salon and they carry their professional quality shampoos that range anywhere from $15-$100. It may seem like a hefty price tag, but Martinez says it’s a great investment in the long run because not only are you getting a great product that has organic and nature-based ingredients, but you’re also getting some of the best technology out in the market. The Neuro line, for example, includes a shampoo that protects your hair from heat damage caused by blow drying and using other heat styling tools.

“People may think that $100 is a lot of money, but if you buy $10 shampoo every time, at the end of the year you are spending hundreds,” he says. They have a $100 package that includes a shampoo and conditioner, but is concentrated and contains no water, so just a little bit goes a long way and can last you all year long.

We often take our haircare for granted, but just like our skin, it needs help maintaining its dryness or sometimes excess oil that we often get from using the same routine and same products over and over.
