“Este estudio coincide con lo que he visto en Chicago”, agregó. “En cuanto al tema de la RPC de parte de transeúntes, hemos notado la tendencia de que esta va en aumento en vecindarios con población blanca y de ciertas minorías, pero que eso no ha sucedido de la misma forma en vecindarios hispanos”.

De hecho, agregó que se ha visto una disminución.

“En términos políticos, los últimos años han provocado un gran temor a la deportación”, mencionó. “Eso hace que sea más difícil que la gente llame y permanezca en la llamada el tiempo suficiente para seguir instrucciones. También existe la barrera del idioma. Es una confluencia de características negativas que predominan más en vecindarios hispanos que en otras comunidades”.
