They work together, improvising and figuring out how someone in a wheelchair can move and use their strength and capabilities to create this beautiful art form. Axis combines dancers that are so physically different and want audiences to see them as a new way that dance could be. They show people that even though they’re in a wheelchair, they are still able to come together through movement and be part of something amazing.
During their visit to Chicago, the dance company will conduct a physically integrated dance workshop at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, introducing the exciting art of physically integrated dance for people with and without physical disabilities.
Check out their amazing performances and if you’re in Chicago, so see them at the Harris Theatre.
