Imagine finding a video on YouTube mocking you and labeling you as the “World’s Ugliest Woman.” This is exactly what happened to Lizzie Velasquez who suffers from Marfan and lipodystrophy. These conditions are extremely rare that it wasn’t until recently that doctors named the syndrome because she is one of three people in the world that live with this.

Due to this she is unable to gain weight and at the age of 26, she only weighs 58 pounds. When she found that video she was only 17 years old and devastated because she’s suffered from bullying for many years. But, leave it to a Latina to use that horribleness to empower herself and others.
