Many of us struggle with going to the gym or working out 3 days a week and then there are people like Demi Lovato who spend four hours a day, 6 times a week at the gym! Now that’s commitment, but what does she do during that time?

People had the opportunity to speak to her trainer, Jay Glazer from the L.A. Unbreakable Performance Center where she’s been training for the past 9 months and by the looks of it, her hard work is paying off. “This is her safe haven,” says Glazer. “Demi will be here for four hours a day. It’s her one place where she doesn’t have to be a pop star. She’s talked a lot about her addictions, and this has become her healthy addiction.”

Lovato’s workout starts with an hour and half of mixed martial arts and depending on the day of the week, she’ll do boxing Muay Thai, ground fighting and or Brazilian jujitsu, says Glazer. Then she’ll do some sort of recovery or performance workout, which focuses on full-body toning.

“It’s very intense,” says Glazer. “It’s three different exercises three times through with no rest. She’ll do a push, a pull and lower body move, so lets say a chest push up, a pull for your back, and then some sort of squat, but something low-impact that won’t bulk her. At the end, we’ll do abs.”

After her workout, she does 30 minutes of I.V. therapy or cryotherapy two to three times a week, Phoenix Thera-Lase medical laser therapy each day that penetrates 6 inches into the body to encourage healing and reduce swelling and inflammation, and massaging recovery sleeves every day.

Even though it may seem like it’s super intense, Lovato loves coming there every day and giving it 100%. “The happiness that she has, it’s really from the inside out. Physically, she looks ridiculously amazing, but to get her to see herself as beautiful as she is—I can’t tell you how proud we are of her,” he says. It looks like the singer has an amazing coach that motivates her to stay positive and work hard towards her goals, which is part of achieving fitness goals.
