Alexis Bledel’s 5-Step Facial
Alexis Bledel’s 5-Step Facial
Skin Care professionals recommend that you have a professional facial every three to four weeks. A facial helps keep your skin clean, clear and tuned, not to mention looking young. This is the Gilmore Girl’s 5-step facial that keeps her skin looking youthful:
Step 1-The Cleanse: The aesthetician opens up Bledel’s pores with a steam machine and does a pre-cleanse with mineral oil and exfoliates her skin with a clay mask. She uses a Clarisonic Face Brush with cleansing gel to cleanse the skin. Then she applies the Environ Alpha Toner Forte and Alpha Gel (which has a high concentration of Alpha Hydroxy Acids and used as a secondary exfoliant) and then cleansing gel again.
Step 2-Extraction: After the deep pore cleanse which helps remove blackheads, she applies toner again.
Step 3-Sonophoresis Treatment: This is a cosmetic roller that uses micro-needles across the face to help stimulate the skin. It’s not painful and it helps with uneven skin tone. Then she applies LAC-Pamgel, which is a serum with Lactic Acid, followed by a serum that contains vitamin C. Lastly she gets an ultrasound and micro-current, which reaches the skin at a deeper level so that the skin can absorb the ingredients better.
Step 4-Iontophoresis: This is an alginate mask, which contains vitamin C and helps strengthen blood vessels and increase collagen production, which is what gives your skin elasticity and strength.
Step 5-Hydration: Lastly she moisturizes her skin with a face cream containing vitamin A, C, and E, as well as other antioxidants. Bledel then uses an at-home NuFace device to help tighten and tone her face.
It may seem like it’s a costly procedure, which it probably is, but many of these things you can try at home. Such as the different types of masks and serums containing vitamin A and C, those things are affordable and you can do at home. For the rest, be sure to talk to your beautician to get those procedures done, which you may be able to get without the Hollywood price tag.
