There’s been many celebrities that have spoken out about equal pay, but November 1st is #LatinaEqualPayDay. The sad truth is that Latinas that work full time year-round only earn 56 cents for ever dollar paid to their white, non-hispanic male counterparts. This gap means that they have to work way more hours to make as much as men do. They also have to struggle with having no maternity leave, which is another issue that costs women more money because they have unpaid maternity leave and many are forced to go back to work within a week of giving birth. Here are some celebrities that support the cause and that have encountered some problems in the workforce themselves:
