There’s been a lot of talk about the wage gap now that the current Presidential election is nearing, but do women even care that they make less than their male co-workers? Michelle Rodriguez was just questioned about the wage gap and it seems like she’s more focused on her happiness than her paycheck.

The Fast and the Furious star was asked what she thought about Seth Rogen taking credit for starting the wage gap conversation. A couple of years ago when the actor starred in The Interview, which depicted the assassination plot against North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, there was a cyber-attack of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Company e-mails with conversations about Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she was paid way less than her male co-stars for American Hustle. “When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with dicks, I didn’t get mad at Sony. I got mad at myself. I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early. I didn’t want to keep fighting over millions of dollars that, frankly, due to two franchises, I don’t need,” said Lawrence.
When Rodriguez was asked what she thought about the whole wage gap issue, she replied, “Well you know, that’s the world we live in it’s a patriarchal society.” She doesn’t really care about Seth Rogen taking credit for starting that conversation and admitted that she gets paid a lot less than her Fast and the Furious co-stars.
“I don’t complain, you know, I’m not gonna whine about it,” she said. “It’s like being born a slave, you don’t complain, like, ‘Oh darn my luck; I wish I was born somewhere else or maybe some other way, but it is what it is.’” She added that she really doesn’t care because she’s not all about the money or power.
It seems like that’s the consensus from most women, especially those in Hollywood. Women like Rodriguez love what they do and they find that it’s a privilege to be working in a high-profile movie like this. After all, she’s getting paid millions, it may not be as many millions as Vin Diesel, but still quite a load of cash.
