For over 10 years, Anthony has been working on different types of projects with the Carmelo Anthony Foundation. “This keeps me motivated. To know that regardless of what I’m doing on the basketball court, I’m still making an impact in someone’s life off the court,” said Anthony of his charity work.
Academic achievement is important to Latino communities and since he’s half Puerto Rican, what better way to give back to underprivileged kids. Most recently he funded school projects in Baltimore that helped fund 54 different projects for teachers in West Baltimore. The 9-time NBA All-Star gave over $15 million dollars, which funded over 15,500 classroom projects.
In addition you can see him act in a cameo during the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows movie coming out on June 3rd. Plus on June 12th he’ll be crowned as the Puerto Rican king during the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Manhattan.
He’s definitely a busy man!
