La comida quizá tenga mejor sabor si usted está sentado

Para confirmar el hallazgo, el profesor de mercadeo Dipayan Biswas pidió a 350 personas que calificaran el sabor de chips de pan de pita. Las personas que comieron de pie encontraron que los chips eran menos sabrosos que las que comieron sentadas en una silla acolchada.

Lo mismo sucedió con bizcocho de chocolate. Pero cuando se añadió mucha sal a la receta, el resultado se invirtió. Las personas que estaban sentadas encontraron que los alimentos eran desagradables, mientras que las que estaban de pie no notaron la sal adicional y declararon que los alimentos eran más sabrosos que las que estaban sentadas.

“Este hallazgo sugiere que quizá los padres pudieran hacer que los alimentos saludables con un sabor desagradable parezcan más apetitosos a los niños renuentes si hacen que los coman de pie [en lugar de sentados]”, señaló Biswas en un comunicado de prensa de la universidad. “De forma similar, quizá sea beneficioso permanecer de pie al consumir productos farmacéuticos que tengan un sabor desagradable”.
