Her partner, Richard Roer convinced her to get a second opinion, and she did. That’s when doctors found another tumor in her left breast, except this one was benign.
Now she has a very difficult decision ahead of her. She is having surgery on Friday and she has the difficult decision of getting a lumpectomy, which is the surgery that is performed to remove cancer and other abnormal tissue from your breast or getting mastectomy, which is would result in removing her entire breast.
If she does the lumpectomy there is a 30% chance of the cancer coming back. “I still haven’t made the decision. I’m not sure what to do and no one can tell me what to do, because I have to decide it. I’m not there yet,” confides Marín.
Even though she’s not ready to make her decision, we can only imagine how difficult these next few days will be. She’s staying positive because she believes that positive thoughts bring positive energy. “Everything is going to be o.k., everything in life happens for a reason,” she says.
