If you recently picked up a new exercise routine, this might mean that you’re hungry because your body and brain are adapting to new set of physical challenges. But don’t go grabbing your emergency stash of Doritos or junk food. You want your hard workout to pay off, so try these easy post-workout recipes.
Berry Shake
12 oz of water
1 cup of spinach
2 cups of berries (your choice)
½ cup of plain low-fat yogurt
1 tsp of walnuts or almonds
1 tsp of ground flaxseed
Blend this and drink as a shake or smoothie.

Yummy Oats
½ cup of oats
2 tsp flax seed
1 ½ cups of low-fat milk
1 cup of berries
Microwave for 2 minutes and enjoy. You can choose to add the berries before or after microwaving.
Grilled Turkey and Ham Sandwich
Who doesn’t love a sandwich after their workout?
1 tsp of mayo (light)
1 tsp of Dijon mustard
2 slices of bread (toasted)
2 slices of turkey breast sliced
2 slices of ham sliced
1 slice of non-fat cheese
3 slices of tomato
Avocado and Tuna Tapas
Avocado
1 can of tuna packed in water
1 tsp of mayo (light)
3 green onions sliced
½ red bell pepper
1 tsp of balsamic vinegar
Salt and black pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients together then add on top of the sliced avocados.
