AcroYoga is a combination of traditional yoga combined with the strength of acrobatics and Thai massage. The practice of AcroYoga began about 10 years ago and now many are combining the traditional yoga that they’ve learned to love for so many years and combining it with acrobatic moves that build on trust with the partner you do it with. Many are amazed at what their bodies can do and the flexibility that they can reach with this practice.

AcroYoga has 3 Elements

Solar Acrobatics

When you practice AcroYoga or any other team sport, one of the things you focus on is trust. Solar Acrobatic practices are the tools that unlock that power within you and your partner. Through this practice you begin to build on that trust and you not only have trust in your partner, but also in the things your body is capable of doing. Some of the building blocks can include push-ups, downward dog push-ups, abdominal exercises that connect both your body and mind to build on that teamwork

Lunar Healing Arts

This part focuses on listening to your partner and learning to experience new things. This part can include massage, therapeutic flying and partner yoga. The goal is that you and your partner can feel more full and balanced. First you learn massage techniques that will prepare you to safely do therapeutic flying. With therapeutic flying you use the body weight of your partner and your strength to do things you never expected you could do.

Yoga Practices

Traditional yoga poses are taught; these you can do on your own, but by doing these you learn different postures, how to breathe and the philosophy that everything is connected between the mind, body, and earth.

With AcroYoga people step into their own power, their own strength. You are encouraged to play and be a child again because you’re having fun and experimenting, while learning what your body is capabable of doing. You achieve things through teamwork with your partner and you open your body to exceed expectations.
