Having Trouble Falling Asleep? Try A White Noise Machine

Getting a good night’s sleep is just as important as eating a healthy diet and exercising for your health. Yet, getting good quality sleep is a luxury to many, especially those that have to work late or have to get up early to take their kids to school or go to work. One of the things more and more people are turning to are white noise machines, but what exactly do they do to help you get a good night’s sleep?

What is white noise?

According to noisehelp.com, just as we use colors to help describe different kinds of light, we can use colors to help describe different kinds of noise. White light is an even distribution of all wavelengths of light within the range of normal vision. White noise is an even distribution of all sound frequencies within the range of normal hearing, so in other words, white noise machines help us sleep better because they mask or drown out other sounds that might prevent you from falling asleep or wake you up during the middle of the night. If you live in a big city, you might be used to having to sleep with the radio on just to tune out some of the loud noises happening outside, but many times they don’t work as well when you start jamming in your bed to your favorite songs. This is why you might benefit from investing in one of these white noise machines.
