Demi Lovato Has No Time For Haters, Focusing on Her Mental Health

Demi Lovato Is Focusing on Her Health

As we grow older we begin to prioritize our health and well-being. That is the case for Demi Lovato who has always been open about her personal struggles, but now that she’s older she’s learned to prioritize what really matters, which is her health, fitness, and just being happy.

“I take care of my mental health, it’s definitely something that I prioritize as well as my physical health,” she says in an interview with EOnline. “I see a therapist 2 days a week and I reach out to people whenever I’m struggling with something.”

The almost 25-year-old singer (she celebrates her birthday on August 20th) says that she likes to work out and eat healthily, plus she has a healthy support system around her. “I do everything that I can to maintain a happy healthy lifestyle,” she adds.

Body Shamers

With everyone being so opinionated on social media, Lovato is used to people talking bad about her weight, but nowadays she has no time for that. “I don’t really deal with body shamers anymore because I don’t look at it and I think that the more attention that you give it more power it has over you.” More and more people are staying off social media because it really messes with their mental health. Hurtful social media comments can often lead to depression and anxiety, which is not good. “I focus on what I see in the mirror and that’s a beautiful person and regardless of what I think of my body that day, I know that nobody can take who I am away from me,” Lovato says. Whenever she sees a negative comment she just ignores it. “I know that I’m healthy and that I’m doing everything that I can to be healthy, whatever or wherever my body is right now it is what it is. Love it or hate it, I’m still gonna love it!.”
