Adamari López Shares How Her Beauty Regimen Has Changed Over The Years

Adamari and ToniLately, López has been in the spotlight after posting a photograph in a bathing suit alongside her husband. “Up until my 30’s, I was thin, then later after I got sick [with breast cancer] I started to gain weight and my body started to change,” she explains to People en Español. When her hair started to fall off it made her sad and insecure. “When they removed my breast and I had an implant, these were moments when I didn’t feel that pretty, without confidence,” she says.

Her husband, Toni Costa, is very supportive of her and regardless of what people may think of her size, she now feels confident and is sharing that message of confidence in this new “Time for Me” campaign with Aveeno. She encourages women to take some time for themselves and to take care of their skin. “I take time for myself to do things that I like without feeling guilty. I look good not only for the cameras but also for my family, they are the principal engine for my home.”Adamari Lopez

Being in front of the cameras every day means wearing lots of makeup, so when she’s home or doesn’t work she likes to go makeup-free. The more natural the better, she says. “Nowadays, for me beauty is to be healthy, to be happy, to be natural, to laugh, and to thank God for every day he lets me live, to do good for others, and to accept myself as I am with the virtues and defects, I’m learning to see who is Adamari López…”

Her mom taught her about the importance of moisturizing and she wants to instill those same beauty lessons to her daughter. “I want to teach her now that she’s young, the same way my mom taught me, on how to take care of the skin. We have to put on creams. Mom loved for us to put on creams, and emphasized wearing it on our elbows, knees, ankles; those are things I also want to teach her. I want to teach her to respect herself, respect her body and that she is always fragrant, clean and polished,” says Lopez.
