Un Poquito De Alcohol No Es Tan Malo Para El Corazón

Un consumo leve o moderado de alcohol podría reducir el riesgo de un tipo de accidente cerebrovascular (ACV), pero no de otro, mientras que la bebida empedernida aumenta el riesgo de ambos tipos, sugiere un nuevo estudio.

Un equipo de investigación de Inglaterra y Suecia revisó 25 estudios, además de datos nacionales de Suecia. Los investigadores reportaron que el consumo de hasta dos bebidas al día se asociaba con un riesgo más bajo de ACV isquémico (el bloqueo del flujo sanguíneo al cerebro), pero no pareció tener ningún efecto sobre el riesgo de ACV por sangrado (hemorrágico).woman drinking wine

Según la Asociación Americana de Accidentes Cerebrovasculares (American Stroke Association), más o menos un 87 por ciento de los ACV son isquémicos, mientras que el 13 por ciento restantes son hemorrágicos.

El consumo de alcohol entre alto y empedernido (de dos a más de cuatro bebidas al día) se asoció con un riesgo añadido de ambos tipos de ACV, según los hallazgos publicados en línea el 23 de noviembre en la revista BMC Medicine.
