She doesn’t wash her hair every day, but she does follow a healthy night-time routine for her hair. She pins her hair up before going to sleep that way when she wakes up it won’t be tangled or damaged. “I love Moroccan oil, which gives a lot of moisture to the hair,” she says.
Even though she has beautiful curly locks, she recalls how she didn’t like the natural texture of her hair. “When I was 13 or 14 years old, I was a little insecure because all the girls had beautiful straight hair and I would dream of waking up in the morning and not think about what I had to do with my hair.” That’s when she realized that all of the straight-haired girls wanted to have curly hair like hers.
“I can wash it and have an Afro, and the next day I can blow-dry it and have it straight,” she says. “I think we all have to love what God gave us and use it because that makes you unique.”
