If you thought mami was hard to shop for on Mother’s Day, try papi. Sometimes we have no idea where to start when it comes to shopping for dad, but that’s OK. We have some ideas for you to get to for Papá this Father’s Day!
1. Grilling Tools
If your dad is one of those who loves to control the grill on hot summer days, this is the gift for him. Buying him new grilling utensils plus an apron to protect from those BBQ spills isn’t a bad idea. Grilling is also one of the healthiest and most delicious ways to cook food. So instead of staying inside and cooking on the stove, encourage dad to get outside and enjoy the air.

2. A New Water Bottle
Everyone has to drink more water. It helps with digestion, keeping your body clean and healthy. Dad may not be a fan because of consistent trips to the bathroom, but it’s good for him nonetheless.
3. Tickets to a Sporting Event
Who doesn’t love to scream and shout for their favorite team? If your dad is a fan of baseball or fútbol, tickets to the events may be your best bet. And to top it off, get yourself a ticket! Quality time with papi!
4. Dinner at a Healthy Spot
Most of the time, people don’t choose a better option because they don’t know about it. In this day and age, there are plenty of healthy options and spins to traditional Latin food. Ever try vegan tacos or organic carne asada? Taking dad and the rest of the family out for a great night and healthy food might be your best bet.
5. New Running Shoes
They always say that they will eventually get to working out or getting healthy. But do they ever? Not if you don’t help the cause. Buy dad some new active shoes to get him out and walking. Again, spending quality time with dad is important. Go for a walk together to strengthen your muscles, bones and relationship!
6. Concert Tickets
Summer time is the season for live music and tours from your favorite artists. Buy your dad some awesome concert tickets to get him feeling good, singing his favorite songs and get him dancing! Upbeat music and singing lightens the mood and gets you feeling good and energetic. He might love you even more if you pull the right strings and get him tickets to the show he’s always wanted to see.
7. A 60 Minute Massage
Dad may be working way too much to ever enjoy a day off to feel relaxed. Take him to the spa one day to wind down and find out what it’s like to live in total relaxation. Massages completely relax the body, releases stress and toxins. It might be the best thing you do for him in a long time.
8. A Bottle of Wine
Although dads typically like beer more than wine, wine has been shown to have benefits for the heart. Resveratrol, found in red wine, might protect blood vessel damage, reduce bad cholesterol and prevent blood clots. Plus, it’s something to share with mom!
9. Work Shoes
Whether he wears boots or loafers, nothing is worse than having to walk around in bad shoes all day. Make sure boots are breathable and any other type of shoes have the proper cushion to walk around or stand in. The feet are a sensitive area of the body and should be treated well.
10. Summer Essentials
The last thing that papi thinks about is how to protect himself out in the sun. Get him a basket with the summer essentials including sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm and moisturizing lotion in his favorite scent. Dad needs to protect himself just as much as everyone else. If you’re feeling really generous, buying him a small iPod and filling it with his favorite music might be exactly what he needs for a great summer!
