Romeo has always been very reserved about his personal life. “It’s one of the reasons why many people have asked me if I’m gay. I’m not. I simply don’t want to show off my girlfriend, when I have one. I’m not married. I just want to sell music, which is the only thing that I’m interested in selling.”
In a recent interview with his son, he talks about the relationship he has with his son Alex Damián. “This kid is so competitive in sports, that I think he’s an Alpha Romeo, because I am competitive, but this is excessive,” says the singer. They like playing basketball together and when his 14-year-old son beats him he gets super emotional.
When asked if Alex Damián would follow in his footsteps, he said that his son is not really interested in music. “Hypothetically speaking, if he tells me someday that he wants to be an artist, first I would try to convince him not to, but if it’s something that interests him, then I would support and guide him,” says Romeo.
Looks like even though their relationship got off to a rocky start, they’re slowly building a great father and son relationship.
