Luis Coronel Almost Took His Life When He Was a Teen

During that same time, his family was evicted because his mom didn’t have enough money to pay for rent. His aunt took him, his mom, sister, brother and niece in, where they all lived in a one-bedroom. Coronel’s mother worked at the fitness center from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at night and eventually he went to live at the gym where he slept under a boxing ring. That’s when he fell into a deep depression.

He thought about taking his life, either by throwing himself in front of a car, hanging himself, or by shooting himself with a gun. He thought that through taking his life, he wouldn’t suffer as much as he was.luis coronel, instagram

Coronel used to sing at church choirs since the age of 6, but it wasn’t until he uploaded a video on YouTube that his music career skyrocketed.   His videos went viral and eventually landed in the hands of a music producer, Del Records, who signed him at the age of 16.

Since then he’s had hit after hit and has reached the top spots on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums and even became a judge on Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento. Coronel never hides his humble beginnings and thanks his mother for all the sacrifices she made for him. Check out the interview with el Gordo y la Flaca:
