He explains that she was pregnant when she suffered complications that put her in a coma. “During that time I was in Medellin with my heavy metal group, and I still hadn’t left to the U.S. And, it’s really been the most difficult thing that has happened to us as a family. It’s indescribable.”
In 2011 he decided to take some time and focus on his family, his wife Karen Martínez and his three kids, who he would hardly see because he was always working. “It was at that point when I felt like I had to put a stop in my life because I didn’t want to live like that. When you work too much, the balance goes towards work and you mess everything up. At some moment in my life, I lost what was important because it’s not easy managing the pressures because with fame we sometimes lose ourselves.”
He credits his current happiness to his wife and their children whom have grounded him and have shown him what’s really important.
