“Max, we love you and feel a great responsibility to leave the world a better place for you and all children,” Zuckerberg and Chan said in a letter to their daughter. “We wish you a life filled with the same love, hope and joy you give us. We can’t wait to see what you bring to this world.”
This is Zuckerberg’s first child and like most parents, it’s a learning experience. Back in July he revealed that Chan had three miscarriages, a very personal detail of his life. He shared this personal information in order for others to talk about the experience and to let other couples like them know that they’re not alone.
In addition, he announced last month that he would take 2 months of paternity leave. Unfortunately in the U.S. maternity and paternity leave is not standard. Since the announcement, Facebook announced that they were extending paternity leave to 4 months for all male Facebook employees.
It’s no secret that Mark Zuckerberg has changed our world with Facebook and has inspired others to develop an amazing community. Everyone is anxious to know where the money will go, but we’re sure it will go to great causes.
