Think about your health and everything you will gain from quitting smoking. For starters you will reduce your risk for developing type 2 diabetes if you don’t already have it. Your heart rate and blood pressure will drop almost immediately after you stop smoking. After 12 hours the carbon monoxide level in your blood returns to normal. The long-term effects of smoking are even better because the longer you smoke the more prone you are to chronic diseases later in life.
