“You lose the fear of losing something when the only thing you have left is your life,” she adds. Guzman explains this experience as going through hell. A plastic surgeon injected biopolymers into her buttocks which caused all the damage that she’s sustained. The industrial substance that they injected into her body is used to make glass, plastic, and seals for machinery, it should’ve never been used for that procedure. “Dr. López Infante did a lot of damage and I say that to free my soul because I didn’t know how to help myself,” she says.
She remembers being hospitalized for about 6 months, and by that time she was ready to throw in the towel because she couldn’t take this anymore. “I called my dad and he was at the Mexican National Auditorium and he put my call on speaker and I heard the crowd cheering for me and it felt like they injected life into my body,” she recalls. That’s when she realized how important it was for her to continue to fight for her life. Her passion for music and a supportive audience was what kept her going during that very difficult time.
