Ever get a pinching nerve that burns or tingles on the side of your leg? More than likely it’s your sciatic nerve and you’re not alone because about 40% of the population has experienced it at one point of their lives. This is very common for pregnant women and people that overweight. Sitting for long periods of time or driving long distances on daily basis can cause your sciatic nerve to hurt.

This is one of the longest nerves you have, it is connects through the spinal chord and it passes through your rear muscles and travels through the back of your thigh and down to your legs. Some of the symptoms can include fatigue, pain, weakness in your legs, and pain anywhere along the sciatic nerve area.

There are many massage therapists that specialize in sciatic nerve massage because every case is different. Massage therapy can help relieve pain, stimulate circulation, improve movement and release tension.

Herbal Remedies

There are many anti-inflammatory herbs that can help heal your sciatic nerve. Black birch, willow, chamomile, turmeric, garlic, St. John’s wort oil, and even garlic can help you with the pain.

Yoga

Yoga gives you increased flexibility and the best poses you could do to relieve your pain from sciatica are the Lotus pose and twist and Reclining big toe pose. These poses allow you to gently twist your back and stretch your legs helping you relieve that pain down your legs and spine.
