Yuri Delays Her New Album To Focus On Her Health

Yuri

Yuri’s mother, Dulce Canseco passed away in 2015, but this loss consumed her so much that it affected her health. Her new album, called Primera Fila was supposed to come out in March, but she decided to delay it because she was suffering from a severe depression.

“The album was supposed to come out in March of this year but the the death of Doña Tute [her mother] has caused havoc in my life,” said the singer to Ventaneando. Apparently, Yuri had to put the final touches on her album back in December, but she couldn’t because she was suffering from depression due to missing her mother. It’s only been two years since her mother passed away, so she had to focus on her health before her music.

In addition to that, she caught a bacteria from eating sushi. “Don’t eat sushi. I was a fan of sushi, that’s why I’ve always been thin. Raw fish has a bacteria called Helicobacter,” she says. Helicobacter pylori is a type of bacteria that causes infection in the stomach and if it’s not treated, it can lead to stomach cancer.

“I started getting a lot of stomach pain, pain that was so strong that I would start sweating, I would get really cold. I went to the doctor. On the fifth day, I had an endoscopy. They took small parts of my stomach to see if I had cancer, Helicobacter or something else. It was Helicobacter, but it’s a strong bacteria, so I had to take five antibiotics.”

Fortunately, Yuri is doing much better health-wise and her album was finally released today.
