Adriana Lima recently made headlines when she announced on Facebook that she’s married to herself. The Brazilian model was married to Marko Jaric for about 7 years but divorced in 2016. Various media outlets were spreading rumors because she was seen wearing a diamond ring on that finger, so she decided to set the record straight.
It seems like more and more women are embracing singledom and it’s perfectly fine to be single and proud of it. Many women feel like if they haven’t met the one by the time they reach 40, they’re probably not going to get married.
Most women who post photos on Instagram with the hashtag #marriedtomyself are proclaiming that they are self-sufficient and don’t need to be to be married to be complete, which is perfectly o.k. and even empowering.
