#AskingSaves Lives

#ASKINGSAVES, PICTURE OF HAND

Nobody likes to talk about suicide, but talking about it can help save lives, especially young lives that are very much at risk. The campaign called #AskingSaves is helping prevent the number of suicides that take place every year. According to the National Alliance of Mental Illness, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S.

Those statistics are more starling for young people ages 10 to 24, since it’s the 3rd leading cause of death for people in that age group. The #AskingSaves social media campaign will connect more than 50 therapists and crisis intervention experts when searching the hashtag on Twitter. When they search #AskingSaves, it will link them with advice and important information on suicide prevention. The goal of the campaign is to save lives by simply asking someone they care about if they’re o.k.
