Becoming a new mom is no easy task and women have so much to worry about. Bringing a child into your life can be a stressful thing, especially if you’re a new mom. Everything is new to you and now you have this little person that you have to take care of, and it’s not easy.
“Mothers are constantly expected to be the nurturers, the givers, the providers of a comfortable home,” she told Women’s Health. “ Women are expected to be pregnant, have the kids, breastfeed them and on top of that they’re expected to look amazing after the baby, she adds.
“I would say to any woman, don’t be so hard on yourself, if you’re not feeling confident on a certain day, you have to let that go,” says Aguilera. She’s struggled with her weight for some years and the media has not been very kind.
“I’m not into deprivation to get a good body that I want, I’m into enjoying life and being conscious and aware, but also breathing into yourself and owning what you got,” she says.
There’s nothing more beautiful than a woman being confident about whom she is and this is why she thinks women need to relax and enjoy the moment. If it takes you a while to get back into shape–that’s o.k.
“We’re expected to keep our husbands and boyfriends interested—because we’re supposed to get back to sexy and keep things exciting in the bedroom. There’s such a long list.”
Aguilera shares the frustrations that many women go through , but of course her children are her world and she wouldn’t trade motherhood for anything. “Having children is the ultimate joy, and I love my kids, but women have to find time to nurture themselves. If someone has a baby, the first thing I’m like is, ‘Okay, are you taking care of you?’”
