Traditional Guacamole Recipe and More!

Guacamole is a staple in Mexico and it has made its way to many American homes across the country regardless of your nationality. It’s delicious and not to mention that avocados have many nutrients that are beneficial to your health. We found a couple of great recipes for guacamole, but first we’ll start with the original:

Traditional Guacamole

The traditional guacamole only has 5 ingredients: avocado, onions, jalapeño peppers, salt and lime juice. You mince all of the ingredients together then mush them together. You will add the number of ingredients to taste. Most people eyeball the amount of ingredients they need and just begin chopping and tasting along the way.

Roasted Red Pepper Guacamole

Everyone loves roasted red peppers. The best way to make these is to char them on the stovetop until they’re nice and soft. Then peel off the burnt skin and take out the seeds and chop it up. Along with the sweet red peppers, you add chopped avocados, green onions, jalapeño pepper and cayenne pepper for heat, lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste.

Guacamole with Tomato

This guacamole is the closest you get to the traditional guacamole. You have your avocados, fresh cilantro, lime, garlic, onion, tomato, jalapeño peppers, limejuice and salt. Many people like this on the best because the tomato makes the guacamole meatier than if you have just the avocado.

Guacamole with Green Peas

This guacamole made a lot of people upset, but you can’t knock it until you try it! This guacamole includes a cup of green peas, avocados, limejuice, onion, garlic, cilantro and jalapeños. This would be something great to try in the winter or whenever avocados are not in season and are very expensive. The two green veggies mix very well for a sweet and spicy guacamole that might leave you in awe.
