More and more women are choosing not to have children and that’s perfectly o.k. Kate Del Castillo is 44 years old and explains that she’s never had the desire to start a family of her own.
“I have a great family, but I’ve never had my own,” she explains to Caras. “I’ve never had the desire to have children. If I would’ve wanted this I would’ve already done it. It’s never been a topic that has caught my attention, in part because of the experiences that I’ve had with my ex-partners.”
Del Castillo has been married twice, first with Luis García Postigo and then with Aarón Diaz, both marriages lasted three years. She was a victim of abuse, both physical and psychological when she was married with García, which to this date affects her.
“Reliving things like those is very difficult for a woman that’s been mistreated. Nobody deserves to be in an abusive relationship. There are women that live to tell their story and others that don’t,” she explains. “In my case, I have to help and accompany other victims. We continue to struggle for equality and justice, but the attacks don’t stop. You only get one life and nobody deserves to be abused.”
We couldn’t agree more with Kate Del Castillo! Some women never have the desire to have children and that’s just fine and absolutely no woman should ever be stuck in an abusive relationship.
