Should You Shower in the Morning Or Evening?

There are two types of people: those that shower in the morning and those that shower in the evening. Many times the weather plays a factor on the time you decide to shower. Those that live in the Midwest know that during the winter if you shower in the morning, you absolutely have to blow-dry your hair, otherwise you will end up with icicles in your hair on your way to work. So which is better, morning or evening?

Day & Evening Benefits

Wakes you Up: If you have a busy week and want to get your creative juices flowing, then the morning is the way to go. Many times when you shower, you come up with great ideas and this is because when the water touches your body, you enter an alert-brain-wave state.

Problem Sleeping: Those that have too much energy at night and have trouble sleeping can benefit from a shower. The rapid cooling after you get out of the shower tends to be a natural sleep inducer.

Prone to Bleeding: If you’re prone to bleeding after you shave, then take a shower anywhere from 6 a.m. to noon because that’s when your body has a surge of clot-forming platelets, so the bleeding stops faster than at night.

Acne: If you suffer from oily skin, taking a shower in the afternoon can help you remove the dirt and oil that come from environmental pollutants. These can clog your pores and give you acne. Plus you can apply night moisturizer and let your skin repair overnight.

Stress Reliever: There’s nothing better than a cold shower at night after you’ve had a long day. Showers help reduce cortisol lives, which relieve stress. Also, if you go for a workout after work, taking a shower will help you feel cleaner and also relieve your tense muscles.

Allergies: Those that suffer from hay fever or allergies can benefit from showering as soon as they get home from work or school. Pollen particles hide on your body, hair, clothes, and shoes, so you’ll still have the symptoms even when you’re inside.

Water temperature is something else to take into consideration. Hot showers help relieve tension and soothe stiff muscles. Cold showers can help blood circulation and even increase your immunity. We leave it up you, but it seems that either way you benefit, it really depends what mood you’re in and what your day looks like.
