Fade Away Scars With This

Scars are something that almost everyone has. Many times we’re clumsy and fall down, we have ugly acne that leaves scars behind or even get scars from surgery. Whatever the reason may be, it’s not pretty and if we had a magic wand, we would take it all back. Nowadays there are expensive treatments to get rid of scars, but that would mean shelling out thousands of dollars for plastic surgery or laser removal of scars, which insurance does not cover.

If you’re lucky you’re able to cover your scars with clothing, but when a scar is located out in the open, it’s harder to hide. Depending on the type of scar you might have, there are things that you can use to minimize the look of your scar.

Shea or Cocoa Butter

There are many lotions that include these ingredients, but most of the time they are mixed with other chemicals. It’s best if you find these products in their purest forms. They are often used in lotions as a skin softener and they will work their magic on scars.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce the swelling and redness of a scar. It’s able to penetrate deeply and repair damaged cells, as well as increase the amount of collagen produced.

Lemon Juice

Lemons contain citric acid and help lighten the color of the scar and reduce redness. Lemon juice can help remove dead skin cells and help new cells grow so you could get the elasticity back on your skin.

Honey

Honey is a natural antibiotic and has anti-inflammatory properties. It contains vitamins B2, B3 and B5 as well as other minerals. It’s not only an antiseptic, but it’s also good for moisturizing, which is why it’s used in many creams and lotions.

Baking Soda

Many people have created a paste using baking soda and water to remove acne scarring. It has excellent exfoliating properties that help remove oil and dead skin cells, helping remove marks from scars. It also encourages the growth of collagen to fill indented scars.

Don’t expect these natural remedies to work immediately. Like everything else, you have to be patient and make sure you take care of your wound first to make sure it doesn’t get infected. Make sure you use proper hygiene and do not pick at scars and make it worse. Do not apply anything to an open wound because instead of helping the scar heal, it can become infected. These remedies should only be tried after the wound has completely healed.
