Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler Opens Up Facility For Sexually Abused Girls

Steven Tyler is a rock legend and for some time now, he’s partnered up with Youth Villages to create Janie’s Fund, which helps abused and neglected girls find long-term success. The rock star just opened Janie’s House, a facility in Atlanta that is intended to be a haven for girls who’ve suffered sexual or physical abuse.

“When girls come in and they’re broken and battered and have their problems and get out, they have somewhere to go,” Tyler said in a video posted by TMZ. “It’s a safe haven, and more than anything, it gives them a voice. That’s what we want in the end, for them to be able to figure out what’s going on and be good from the inside out and pass it on.”

The Aerosmith frontman explains that the facility will have therapists on site that will help the young girls overcome not only the emotional but the physical issues that they’ve endured. “If there’s a glimmer of hope, that’s all I care about. If one girl sees it, then I’m happy,” he says. The facility will provide therapy to 30 battered and sexually abused girls. “It makes my heart explode, way beyond anything that’s ever made me feel good.”
