Say Good-bye to Whiteheads and Blackheads!

Unfortunately, good skin just doesn’t happen on its own. Many of us get acne that forms when dead skin cells, oil, and bacteria become trapped within our pores, this type of acne is called whiteheads. Blackheads form when oil and dead cells trapped in the pore lining make their way to the pore opening. Both are not pretty to look at and let’s face it, sometimes we get a little lazy and forget they’re even there. It happens, but it’s o.k. We have a couple of secrets that might come in handy and you don’t even have to do them every day.

Baking Soda: This is an ingredient that is used in microdermabrasion, which is a method used to exfoliate skin. You can make a paste with just water and baking soda and exfoliate your skin or use apple cider vinegar with baking soda. The apple cider and baking soda combo serves as an astringent and has many anti-bacterial properties that will clear out your pores.

Toothpaste: You’ve heard of putting toothpaste on your pimples to make them dry out, well it’s the same concept. Simply apply toothpaste on your whiteheads and blackheads and let it sit for 25 minutes. It might sting a little, but it’s not that bad.

Oatmeal: Mix three tablespoons of yogurt with two tablespoons of oatmeal, one teaspoon of olive oil, and one teaspoon of lemon juice and apply on your white and blackheads. Let it rest for a couple of minutes then rinse it off.

Eggs: Using just the egg whites you can temporarily tighten your pores, reducing the chances of future blackheads and will remove the ones you already have. Since egg whites are so thin, apply one coat and let it dry, then keep applying more coats and let it dry, and so on. It’s a very inexpensive mask that promises great results.

Olive oil: Mix two teaspoons of olive oil with a little bit of sugar until you create a paste. With a toothbrush or your fingers apply the paste to your face and rub it in for a couple of minutes. Wash it off and use this once a week to get rid of whiteheads.

Tea Tree Oil: This is often used for acne and it works great because it’s antibacterial and antifungal. Mix the oil with water or aloe Vera gel, since tea tree oil is strong, use the ratio of 1:9 when making this solution. With cotton ball apply to your face and let it dry.
