Jennifer Lopez is happy, she has everything she could possibly want and more. The 48-year-old actress-singer says she’s living her “golden era” because she’s shining brighter than she’s ever had, plus for the first time she’s in a good relationship, something that’s she’s never had before apparently.
“I feel that I am shining brighter than I ever have — that I’m better as a person, as a daughter, as a mother, as a friend, as a partner,” she says to U.S. Hola Magazine. “I totally accept myself for all of those things. I’m not here to be perfect and I’m not here to be anything but my best, whatever that means for me.”
The singer is getting ready to release her new album, Por Primera Vez, which translates to For The First Time, completely in Spanish. Perhaps she’s referring to being in a good relationship for the very first time. She’s been dating former Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez whom she’s always seen sharing some laughs along with each other’s children.
“I’m in a good relationship,” she says about their relationship. “I feel like I can say that for the first time— I don’t know — maybe ever. And not that I didn’t have great relationships, full of love and adventure, but this is the first relationship I’ve been where I feel like we really make each other better. We complement each other, and there’s really pure true love. Just wanting to support the other person and make them happy. So there’s a different selflessness in the love that’s beautiful and different. And healthy!”
Lopez has been married twice before, first with Chris Judd, then most recently with Marc Anthony, whom she had twins with. Perhaps this time she’s older, more mature and is taking things slowly with Rodriguez, which is why she’s in such a good place.
