Where do you go if you need help on makeup tips? Instagram and YouTube of course! Kat Von D got famous from her makeup tutorials on social media and now she’s recruited 4 beauty gurus to go on tour with her and she found them right where she started.

She calls them her “Spice Girls” after the 90’s girl band and explains that each one has a unique personality and area of expertise. ” Leah is a master of complexion, Tara has a pure style that comes from the world of art, Steffanie has a gothic aesthetic and is very beautiful and romantic, and Kelsey wows me the way she uses makeup to make it look like a painting, especially being so young. These women are true artists with a great heart,” says Kat Von D.
People en Español interviewed the four beauty queens and they’re full of beauty advice. Steffanie explains that before applying lipstick, you have to make sure to moisturize your lips and exfoliate. She uses a dry mascara brush to exfoliate her lips, which leave them looking super soft.
“I learned the three line technique at Sephora,” explains Leah. “You choose the tone that is closest to your skin tone, then a light one, then a dark one and blend it all together.”
For those that want to be social media beauty gurus, they recommend practicing your makeup skills on friends and family. Steffanie started out by offering her services to photographers that needed free makeup, so she was able to practice on real people and models, while at the same time getting the experience and exposure she needed. Collaborating with others is the best way to break into this industry.
