Alejandro Sanz Shows His Feminine Side By Wearing Makeup

Alejandro Sanz is a feminist and he’s not afraid of showing it. The Spanish singer was honored by YO Dona and he’s on the cover of the magazine wearing women’s makeup. He’s always spoken out against gender violence and for this cover, it was his idea to wear makeup to help bring awareness.

“I want to tell others that we are one, a universe of people with a masculine and feminine side, that complement each other, we are compatible and necessary,” he says. He thanks his mother for his feminist side. “She would proudly say that she was a feminist. Practically everything that she knew she learned on her own, reading,” says Sanz.

The first time he saw an act of violence was when a man attacked his mother on the street, but luckily another man defended her, even though many just stood there looking, doing nothing. He says that it’s very important to react and do something when you witness something like that.

Last February the singer stopped his concert abruptly when he noticed an act of violence towards a woman. “I reacted by instinct and my stomach still turns when I remember,” says Sanz.

Sanz has four children, two sons and two daughters. “Manuela is very informed and we talk a lot. Children have easy access to a lot of information, but we have to show them to ask the necessary questions and teach them how to resolve them,” he says.

“We have to educate, educate, and educate. “I have two daughters, but also two sons and I want to teach them to be better individuals, more unique, supportive, sensible, intelligent and beautiful on the inside,” says the singer.

His relationship with his wife is also very good and they never go to sleep upset. “When you’re in a relationship it’s important to not take your problems to bed. Talking is fundamental. She never ignores something that is important. And that’s great!,” says Sanz of his wife Raquel Perera.

We can’t say that we disagree with Alejandro Sanz and if more men thought like him, the world would be a better place.
