Jennifer Lopez started her career as a backup dancer, which has led her to the career she has today. Now that American Idol has ended, the singer jumped on the opportunity to do a show that lights her passion, dancing. The new dance competition is called World of Dance and it comes with a big prize–$1 million dollars!

Lopez will be the executive producer of the show, where the dancers will be competing in a wide range of dance styles, including break dancing, ballet, ballroom, and hip-hop.
“This will be a fierce talent-heavy dance competition that embraces the raw emotion and excitement that dance represents. I am excited to work with World of Dance, an organization that has had an immeasurable impact on the dance community, to give all dancers an enormous platform where their dreams can be realized,” said Lopez.
Auditions have already opened online, where dancers can apply to 3 different divisions: ages 8-16 years old, over 17 years old, and teams ages 17 and over. Lopez will be bringing along choreographers, Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo, known as Nappytabs who choreographed JLo’s Las Vegas residency show.
