“Seventy-seven hours over three days,” explains Keegan to People. “We started at home and then we went to the hospital. There’s nothing sane about 77 hours like that. It’s just staying supportive throughout and there was a lot of circling around. It’s a very animalistic thing that happens so you just have to drop into your more natural state and just be supportive and let her go through what she needs to go through.”

Can You Speed Up Labor?

Unfortunately nobody can predict how long your labor will last, but there are some things that you can do to possibly speed up the process.

There are several foods that you can eat, such as raspberry leaf tea, which is said to strengthen the uterus and decreases the risk of bleeding during and after birth.

Having strong uterus muscles and overall strong body, helps ease the process when you’re delivering a baby. This is why women are encouraged to exercise as normal when they are pregnant, having strong muscles in the uterus, legs and abdomen helps.

Having a good posture helps prevent getting a hunchback, but when a pregnant woman sits up straight and avoids slouching, it can prevent back labor pain. Correct posture also helps your body open up and push the baby into the correct position.

Sex and kissing helps release oxytocin, which is a hormone that is involved during birth. It also helps ease you release your stress levels, which is the leading cause of long labors.

These are just a couple of things women could use, but it really varies per person. Each labor is different and unique, but maintaining a strong healthy body does help.
