Beauty Uses For Orange Peels

If you love oranges, you know that when you peel an orange it can leave a sticky white residue on your hands, not to mention an oily substance that comes out from the skin. Most people eat oranges because they just taste good, but they toss out the orange peels without knowing they’re throwing out more vitamin C than they’re eating. Orange peels contain more vitamin C than the orange pulp and this is why they are often used in beauty and skin products.orangel peel, orange peel beauty

Every 100 grams of orange peels contain 136 milligrams of vitamin C. The white part that we always peel off and throw in the garbage has 70 milligrams to 100 grams.   This is vitamin C that could be going into your skin making it glow since it renews worn out skin cells.

Orange Peel Powder

If you have a cheese grater, you can easily grate an orange peel and make orange peel powder. You can also let the orange peel dry and then blend it, but it will be harder than if you do it when it’s fresh.

Beauty Uses for Skin Peels

Dark Spots

Orange peels work as a natural bleach that can help you lighten dark spots on your skin. Mix 2 teaspoons of orange peel with organic honey. Apply this mix to your face and let it sit for 15 minutes, then gently rinse with warm water.

Acne & Blackheads

Orange peel can extract dirt from deep inside the pores as well as prevent oily skin from creating too much sebum, which is that greasy substance your skin naturally produces. Mix 2 teaspoons of orange peel powder with 1 teaspoon of oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and a little bit of water to create a thick paste. Apply to your face for 20 minutes and then rinse off. Mix yogurt with orange peels to create a thick paste and exfoliate your skin to get rid of blackheads.

Wrinkles

The orange peels can keep your skin looking young and wrinkle-free because it reduces oxidative stress in skin cells, keeping your skin looking youthful and glowing. Mix 2 teaspoons of orange peel powder and 1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder and water to make a smooth paste. Apply to your face and neck and leave it for half an hour, then rinse off with warm water.

Make sure that next time you’re eating an orange, you don’t throw away the white pith because it also contains powerful antioxidants that fight off free radicals that can damage your healthy skin cells, which produce wrinkles and saggy skin.

When you are using the orange peel, be sure to dilute the orange peel paste because it contains a lot of citric acids (a popular ingredient in face creams), which if you use too much, it can burn your skin.
