“There’s something that happens to your body hormonally and it’s not just the weight that you acquire, but your nerves, your muscles…everything hurts and feels uncomfortable,” she said. Saldana is always promoting positive messages toward women and advices them to take their time after childbirth.
“You have to remind yourself that everything takes time,” explains Saldana. “I feel bad for those women who are desperate and want to bounce back three months after having a baby.” Instead she says those women should breastfeed, stay home and sleep. She took a break and trusted that her body was going to bounce back slowly. Saldana explains that it’s not easy and that women shouldn’t feel the pressure to bounce back immediately.

What Are Some of the Post-pregnancy pains?
- You bleed: Most first time moms expect blood at delivery, but many are scared and shocked to see how much they bleed afterwards, and it can continue up to 4 weeks.
- Your whole body hurts: With all the effort you set forth pushing out your baby, it’s natural that you have cramps, you ribs, abdomen, back and your whole body hurts. Your breasts also get big, especially if your child has problems latching on, making your breasts extra full of milk.
- Your hair falls out: Most women take prenatal vitamins, which help their skin, hair and nails look great while they’re pregnant. Afterwards, when they start breastfeeding, many start losing their hair due to a drop in hormone levels.
- You’re constipated: Many women have problems with their bowel movements and their doctor may recommend a stool softener, to eat plenty of fiber, get exercise and drinking plenty of water.
