Everyone is talking about Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for being the first woman to win Best Album of the Year twice, but Latino artists did pretty well too.

Demi Lovato’s “Hello” rendition during the Lionel Richie tribute was one of the highlights of last night’s Grammy’s. Lionel Richie watched proudly as she belted out his song. Ricky Martin won for Best Latin Pop Album for his work on “A Quien Quiera Escuchar” and how cool was that finale song from Pitbull, who brought Sofia Vergara dancing! Pitbull also won his first Grammy for his album, Dale!

We can’t decide which one we love best!

Los Tigres del Norte took home the Best Regional Mexican Music Album for  their“Realidades”album, their 7th Grammy. Latinos also performed a piece of the Lin-Manuel Miranda Broadway musical, “Hamilton” which received a standing ovation and a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album.

Antonio Sanchez won for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for his work on “Birdman.” Rubén Blades with Roberto Delgado & Orchestra won for their Tropical Album, “Son De Panamá” and Eliane Elias won Best Latin Jazz album for her work on “Made in Brazil”.

Celia Cruz also received a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award, which is long overdue for the Queen of Salsa. In addition, mezzo soprano, Isabel Leonard also won big as the Best Opera Recording for  “Ravel’s L’Enfant Et Les Sortilèges; Shéhérazade.”

It’s really great to see the Latino community being recognized for their work and the variety of genres that they won for because it truly shows how diverse and talented this community is.
