Charytín Goyco, “La Rubia de América” has been out of the spotlight for a while now (at least from the U.S.) and many people still remember the Dominican entertainer whose career spanned over the course of over 40 years. Her husband, Elín Ortíz suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s, which has been a difficult experience for Charytín and their 3 children.

Unfortunately, Ortíz has had Alzheimer’s for many years, but during the last 4 years, it’s grown worse. Elín Ortíz is 80 years old and Charityn is 61 years old. Charytín explains that this has been extremely difficult because her husband is a very strong man physically, even though his mind is going.
Charytín has always had a positive attitude toward life, even through this difficult time; she tries to remain positive and be by her husband’s side, taking care of him. She says that he smiles at her all the time, and even though he doesn’t recognize her anymore, she knows he enjoys her being by his side.
Charytín lived in the U.S. with her husband for many years and had several shows here, such as El Show de Charytín that her husband produced. They live in the Dominican Republic now and Charytín is currently hosting the show, Paparazzi TV en La Pelu, as well as filming several films.
