What Is Your Face Is Trying To Tell You?

Most people have the preconception that once you hit your 20’s or 30’s you don’t have to worry about acne. Wrong. Your skin goes through many changes and with age you can begin to see wrinkles, age spots, and even acne. But what is your skin trying to tell you?

Face mapping is the analysis of your face, where each part of your face is separated into 14 zones. Your dermatologist can examine each zone by seeing and touching what’s going on in the different parts of your face. What do the different zones mean?

Zone 1 & 2 are located in the forehead area. Acne found here is linked to your digestive system. It can mean that you’re having trouble digesting certain foods or you might have too many toxins, stress, or lack of sleep.

Zone 3 is located between your eyebrows and your breakout can be related to the fatty foods you’ve been eating.

Zone 4, 5, 7 & 8 are all linked to your kidneys. This zone is located on the sides of your eyes, ears, as well underneath your eyes. If you have acne or dark circles then you might need to drink more water.

Zone 6 is located on your nose and is linked to your heart. Acne on your nose may indicate that your blood pressure is off and you need to lower your cholesterol. Eat less spicy food, and eat more good fats like Omega 3 found in fish.

Zones 9 & 10 are located under your eyes and the acne you find here is linked to your respiratory system. Allergies or smoking can be causing your acne, as well as foods containing too much sugar. Try adding more vegetables to your diet.

Zones 11 & 12 are located by your chin and the acne is  related to hormonal changes and stress. Drink more water, relax, sleep, and eat more vegetables to keep your complexion clean.

Zone 13 is located at your chin and this is linked to your stomach. Reduce the amount of toxins in your body by drinking green tea and adding more fiber to your diet.

Zone 14 is located around the neck and acne could be related to illness or bacteria that your body is fighting to keep you from getting sick.

The signs are not always clear, but acne can often be an indicator of keeping hydrated, eating right, sleeping and eliminating unnecessary stress in your life.
