Well, new dating coaches and advisers are telling women that they can do whatever they want in the dating world, along with being exploratory by giving themselves options.

Women should have a group of men that they hang out with, giving them options and opportunity to get to know each of them on an individual yet friendly level. A “starting lineup” is what coaches call it, stating that you don’t have to get down and dirty with all of them, but allowing women to have options means you’re not focusing on just one person.

Most of the time, you don’t find Prince Charming on the first or second try. With a “starting lineup,” though, you can ween out the keepers and find those who you can be exclusive with, letting that exclusivity emerge over time.

Survey Says…

But what is it that people are looking for in the dating world now?

A survey done by Match.com showed that there were a few things that individuals look for that are top priority: Respect, trust and a sense of humor. Humor is one of those things that make someone really attractive, especially if they can withstand humor in day-to-day life.

At the same time, it showed that men judge women on their teeth, grammar and hair. However, women judge men on the same thing.

It seems that daters nowadays are least worried about getting married and are more concerned with education and career levels being just about equal. It makes for better conversation.

The New Age Woman

Women don’t necessarily have to always be in committed relationships, although Latino families may beg to differ. Based on surveys, more and more individuals are leading away from the traditional sense of having to get married and have children, and more on being the power couple that’s going to encourage and trust in each other.

However, running this by your family, parents, aunts and uncles, they may not understand coming from a traditional household where gender roles play a big part in the dating and eventually marriage scenarios. By keeping this in the back of your head, you will realize that the decisions you make affect more than just you, so make the right decisions for yourself.

The only way to find out what works for you is to try on different partners. Having a wide network and dating at least two different people twice a week is a way to find out what works, says a dating coach. Options and choices are always better, especially when you’re looking for your life mate.
