The Cuban singer has two children of his own and he’s determined to teach them the value of a dollar and hard work. “My kids are all characters…sometimes my son will be like, ‘Are we going in the Benz or the Beamer?’ And I’m like, ‘Hey, it’s the white car or the silver car, o.k? And, what do you have to do to get something like this? Work hard, because I’m not going to give it to you.’ I tell them that my job is to be out here and their job is to go to school,” he said in an interview with Latina Magazine.
Pitbull has always emphasized the importance of education for children, which is why he helped open two charter schools, one in Miami and one in Las Vegas opening in 2016. Sports Leadership and Management Academy (SLAM), is a school that opened in 2013 for students seeking careers in sports medicine, marketing, business and management.
It’s great to hear that even though he has sold over 7.5 million singles worldwide, he still has his priorities straight. Congratulations, Pitbull!
